BRILLION – Brillion City Council approved a lease agreement with IPR Group LLC for the new city hall Monday night.
The council had been called for a special meeting and went into closed session for more than one hour.
The terms of the agreement have not been made public but that information will become available when the lease is finalized.
IPR is a Public Private Partnership (P3) firm that is operated by McMahon group. The lease with IPR has been discussed for months. The Redevelopment Authority Commission (RDA) first said publicly that they believed the IPR financing option was more feasible than others that were discussed.
Mayor Gary Deiter told The Brillion News that he mentioned to McMahon representatives and others in attendance Monday night to prepare for a long meeting because they would go over every detail of the agreement.
“The consensus of the group was to go ahead with the IPR group,” Deiter said.
Deiter added that this is a new concept to the city and that it was refreshing to see a plan come to fruition after months of conversation. Deiter says that the new city hall will be among other changes that happen in the city.
“It was great to be a part of something like this,” Deiter said.
The new city hall will not count against the city’s borrowing limits.
