Brillion mayor resigns

The Brillion News

Feb. 24, 2020

BRILLION - It was announced at Monday night's Brillion city council meeting that mayor Gary Deiter has resigned from the position.

Deiter first served as alderperson on city council then elected mayor in 2009.

Current council president Mel Edinger is considering taking over the position until the term expires in April 2021.

If Edinger were to take the position, the city would not fill Edinger's council spot.

If Edinger does not take the position, he could continue to oversee meetings as council president or a special election for the position could be held in November.
