Greenleaf man object of early morning search

LEDGEVIEW – The Brown County Sheriff’s Department located a 22-year old Greenleaf man missing since a 3 a.m. motorcycle crash in Ledgeview.

The crash happened on August 2 at County GV and Ledgeview Road, where deputies found that a motorcycle hit a roundabout island and was demolished.

There was no rider found, but a large amount of blood was at the scene. Deputies called in a search dog and the Ledgeview Vol. Fire Department used a thermal imaging camera to look for a body in the area.

Officers said the 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle was a total loss.

No one was found, but the sheriff’s department issued an alert for Shawn R. Vandehey. Deputies were afraid that his injuries were life threatening.

Lt. Thomas Zeigle said, at 1 p.m. Wednesday that Vandehey had been found and the investigation was continuing.
