Guilty: Halderson convicted of all counts

MADISON - A Dane County jury took only a couple of hours in deliberations before finding 23-year old Chandler Halderson guilty on all charges for the killing of his parents, Bart and Krista Halderson of DeForest.

The jury returned guilty verdicts on Thursday, January 20, on two counts each of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, hiding a corpse and providing false information about a kidnapped or missing person.

The homicide charges each carry a mandatory life prison term.

The defense called no witnesses, and Chandler Halderson himself did not take the stand to testify.

Bart Halderson grew up in the Valders area. Members of the family live in the Valders and Hilbert communities.

The murders took place last summer.
