TOWN OF HOLLAND – The Brown County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in arresting people who are dumping junk tires along rural roads.
Two of the latest incidents happened east of Askeaton in the Town of Holland, with town taxpayers picking up the cost of collecting and disposing of the junk tires.
Other incidents have happened in the town of Ledgeview and Glenmore.
The biggest one in Holland, just off Rotzenberg Road, cost the town over a thousand dollars to clean up after a semi-load of junk tires was dumped. The county public works department was called in with a Payloader and dump trucks to clean up the mess.
Anyone with information can contact the sheriff’s department at 920-448-4230 or submit an anonymous tip through Crimestoppers, at 920-432-7867, and qualify for a reward. If you see someone in the act of dumping waste along a road, call 9-1-1.
