BRILLION – Brillion School District’s music department head Jonathan Kobs knows what it’s like to be on opposite ends of the performing spectrum.
When he was younger, he avoided performing on-stage and was in the tech crew for performances. When he got older, he took center stage.
“I actually hated everything music, especially musical, until my freshman year of high school,” Kobs said.
Next week, he’ll be directing his first musical theatre show at the Endries Performing Arts Center in Brillion. “Little Shop of Horrors” hits the stage next Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Saturday night is the FFA alumni and supporters’ pig roast dinner. Advance purchases for the dinner receive a discount on performance tickets.
Kobs went to Chilton High School where as a senior he student directed the spring play.
“It was nothing too big in grandeur, but that was kind of my first directing experience,” Kobs said.
Please see the complete story chronicling Kobs’ journey to musical director in the October 25, 2018 edition of The Brillion News.
