Obituary: Bernice M. Tesch

Bernice M. Tesch, age 94, a Brillion resident, died Monday, September 4, 2023 at Brillion West Haven.



She was born on May 11, 1929 in Seymour, daughter of the late William and Mary (Maas) Arnoldussen. Bernice was a graduate of Seymour High School, Class of 1947. She married Earl Tesch on July 23, 1959 at St. John Catholic Church in Seymour. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2021. The couple owned and operated a dairy farm in rural Brillion until retirement. Bernice also worked as a pharmacy technician at O’Conner Pharmacy in Brillion. Bernice and Earl enjoyed going to Timber Rattlers Baseball games and also enjoyed going polka dancing in their younger years, playing cards, and visiting all of their friends and family. Family was so important to them. Bernice enjoyed her cats and kittens very much. She was also a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. Bernice had a very giving heart, despite her short stature. She also loved giving over 100 presents for Christmas and never forgot a birthday.


Survivors include her sister: Carol Palmer, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and special friends: Ken and Gail Hedrich and Joyce School. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Earl, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Walter and Norma (Maile) Tesch; a sister and brothers-in-law: Dolores (Sylvester) VanBoxtel and Fred Palmer, and other in-laws: Clarence (Loretta and Rita) Tesch, Ralph (Marcia) Tesch, Doris (Wilbert) Borchardt and Charles Walter Tesch.


Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Pomeroy and Deacon Greg Van Thiel with entombment on Monday at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth. The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion, from 9:00 a.m. Saturday, September 9, until 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be made. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Eastshore Humane Society. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Promedica Hospice and West Haven for the excellent and compassionate care extended to Bernice and her family. The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Homes of Brillion & Reedsville are assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
