Born to William and Doris Barnard, Suzanne was raised in Reedsville, WI. As an adult, Sue lived in multiple cities throughout the Midwest; settling in the greater Detroit area in 1961. As a 61 year member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Sue lived her faith every day. She enjoyed bowling, bridge, golf, the Packers, MSU sports, time with friends and family and being surrounded by photos of loved ones. Suzanne worked at Talbots and Regent Street Assisted Living. She eventually moved to Abbey Park in Grand Blanc where Sue established very dear friendships with residents and staff. Suzanne passed away at home on Jan 13, 2022, at the age of 95.
She is survived by her sister Mary Larson, daughters Deborah (John) Pakkala, Rebecca (Scott Ratterree) Cawood, son Richard (Jean) Falck, grandchildren Nicole Pakkala, Tara Colville, Sarah Brockert, Kristen Carlson, Richard Falck, John Cawood, III, and Andrew Cawood, 10 great grandchildren (plus one on the way) and multiple nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Suzanne is predeceased by her daughter Jennifer Brockert, sons-in-law Robert Brockert and John Cawood, Jr., brother Bud Barnard, siblings-in-law Dick Larson, Helen (Clem) Hoelzel, Fred (Lois) Falck, and Pearl Plate, nephew Jay Barnard and former spouse Richard Falck.
A private service is being planned and Swartz Funeral Home is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2225 E. 14 Mile Rd, Birmingham, MI 48009. Special thanks for the loving care and support provided by the employees and aides at Abbey Park. In memory of Sue, send a greeting card, eat a brat or have "just a little sip" of beer.
