WRIGHTSTOWN – A pickup truck stolen as a part of a burglary at the Wrightstown Department of Public Works complex on Washington Street (County ZZ) on Thursday evening has been recovered.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Department said the red 2008 Dodge Ram 5500 pickup truck was found in the Village of Bellevue at Messiah Lutheran Church on Eaton Road.

It was returned to Wrightstown for forensic processing by village police.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on Thursday, a large gate from the fence surrounding the Wrightstown public works facilities was found in the road on County ZZ north of the wastewater treatment plant, along with hydraulic fluid. The stolen truck was missing from the DPW parking lot.

The truck had been driven around within the campus of the DPW facility, and then was driven through the chain link security fence gate.

Wrightstown Police are investigating the incident, which appears to involve burglary, vehicle theft and criminal damage offenses.
