REEDSVILLE – The Gathering Place in Reedsville has a new director in charge of the non-profit family center.

Stephanie Taddy, with her husband Mike helping, too, has taken the position.

The center opened two years ago and has changed directors a couple of times. Bob Brandt owns the building. His initial intent was to have a place for youth to gather in a safe environment. Its LLC is The Family Youth Center of Reedsville, which was put together through tax deductible donations of 42 private parties or corporations.

“Bob just does so much for the community as does his son, and all the people really who have put time and money into The Gathering Place,” Stephanie Taddy says.

Taddy is originally from Brillion. Mike is from the area, too, but they’ve been away the last 20 years as he serves in the military.

The Gathering Place is also now a place to get Cedar Crest Ice Cream and pizza.

The ice cream parlor is open Thursday-Sunday 4-8:30 p.m.

“We’re here for the community and I want it to be more than just a building,” Taddy said.
